Stuff Coming Down the Pike ...
I've been very busy with a ton of different stuff over the past few months, but there are several things at about 90% complete that I'll be knocking out in the next few weeks.
LitePost
LitePost is the blog application that Chris Scott, Adam Wayne Lehman, and I wrote in Model-Glue, Fusebox, and Mach-II respectively for the MAX session on frameworks. The Mach-II and Model-Glue versions also use ColdSpring, and show extremely well how Mach-II and Model-Glue can leverage the exact same model components. We're going to add RSS and some documentation to the project and make it available soon.
Mach-II and Model-Glue: An Objective Comparison
I've been working on this document on and off for a while, because I think it's important to have a comparison of how Mach-II and Model-Glue are both similar and different. It goes into enough technical detail to describe the key differences in approach and functionality with--insofar as possible given my involvement with Mach-II--an unbiased discussion of these differences. I'm also running this by Model-Glue users to make sure I'm not misrepresenting anything about Model-Glue. What I hope this will do is avoid the usual rather unsubstantiated comparisons that have been put forth to date. If nothing else I hope it provides actual talking points instead of the vagaries that have been flying around as of late.
Mach-II Photo Gallery
This is an application that I wrote based on Ray Camden's Model-Glue Photo Gallery to provide a bit larger sample application with a supporting tutorial around it. The application's been done for quite some time; as usual the documentation is the hard part, but I'm working on it!
Updated Mach-II Development Guide
Sean Corfield's Mach-II Development Guide has long been used by people learning Mach-II, but given the changes in Mach-II it's a bit dated at this point, so I've updated it substantially and we'll be releasing it probably when we release the new Mach-II web site early next year.
MachBlog
I'm more motivated than ever to get my own blog on MachBlog, so MachBlog will be done, at least in a public beta state, very soon. I'm also talking about MachBlog at the upcoming Framework Conference in Washington D.C.
Mach-II Updates
We're moving full-speed ahead on Mach-II 1.5 along with a new web site, tons of new documentation, a plugin and filter exchange, more sample applications, and lots of other stuff. We're also making a big push to have Mach-II become even more community-oriented with the availability of a Subversion repository so you can get the absolute latest stuff, and more surveys and requests for input so you can help guide the future of Mach-II.
I think that's about it--now I better get back to work!
